As a teacher in the future, data collection and reporting will be an invaluable part of my career. Since I am planning on being an elementary teacher, I will likely have to teach all four of the core subjects. This means that being able to collect data related to my students understanding of content will be useful to determine my own effectiveness as an instructor. Also, the reporting aspect could be useful for monitoring test scores and other grades in the class.

Moving on, the semester is coming to an end and I am happy to report that this course has taught me invaluable skills related to using technology to better supplement my future teaching practices. Some of these lessons have even come from fellow classmates on blogs of their own. These lessons have often come in the form of differing perspectives and opinions to my own. Some students have also brought tools to my attention that I may not have learned about on my own such as web 2.0 resources for the classroom and online resources to stay up to date on educational technology development.

Lastly, as I begin my individual journey I would like to address technology I am personally interested in learning more about. For me, I would like to continue learning about the various Google applications that were created to compete with Microsoft. These resources could prove to be very useful in a classroom setting because of the ability for multiple people to edit documents at once. I would like to learn more about the best practices to implement these technologies in the classroom.
