Hello! Welcome to Adventures in Education. My name is Cevia,
and I will be your guide on this journey through the asteroid belt of confusion
and past the planet of unlimited energy.
I am a college student from Florida State University in the
process of earning a degree in Elementary Education. My goal is to teach 3rd
grade students math and science, although I have a passion for all subjects. I
come from a very large family with 4 siblings, 2 moms, and 3 dads. I enjoy
traveling and learning as much as I possibly can about the world around me.
Eventually I would love to work in various states across America so I can gain
new experiences to better influence my teaching style.
I grew up with relatively more advanced technology being
implemented in the classroom. We often used SMART boards, projectors, tablets,
and laptops. I even attended a high school that functioned primarily online for
my last 2 and a half years. Despite this, I am still pretty bad at using
technology outside of writing papers for classes. Although, these uses of
technology are fascinating to me. I cannot even begin to understand how
different my education would be without the use of these technologies.
Currently, I am enrolled in a course about educational
technology, which is the point of this blog. My main goal for this class is
just to gain a better understanding of effective ways to implement technology
in the classroom. I would also like to find out what new technologies are
available to teachers to help them with their work, both inside the classroom
and outside of it. This is because I feel like these two goals will be the most
useful for me in my future career and also they will be quite interesting.
Thank you for reading,
This is your captain, signing off.

Hi Cevia, I am also excited to see what new technologies are available to teachers in this new age of technology in our society. I think the new technology will definitely help to make classes more interactive but it can also be a challenge when it is constantly changing. Super excited to see where your journey takes you!
ReplyDeleteI like your blog theme. :-) Hope you will find a beautiful planet of EdTech at the end of your journey.
ReplyDeleteHi Cevia! I love how you made references in you post that match your blog theme! It's too cute! New technology is super fun and exciting, but also so terrifying! Unlike you, my middle and high school didn't have much advanced technology, so stepping foot into the world of SMART boards will be a big leap, but I have no doubt that we'll all be leaving this class somewhat more prepared for the teaching years ahead of us.
