Hello everyone and welcome back to our weekly update!
This past week we have implemented new technology on board called Diigo. This new technology has enabled us to interact with one another almost instantly. All members of the crew can interact with a form of text. Not only is it beneficial as a collaboration tool, but it also has proven to be very useful for just one individual because it can be used as a study tool. I like this new technology quite a bit because of the ability to use it for studying. There are no real downsides that I have noticed so far. I hope you all enjoy it as well.
Since I have started getting the hang of blogging I feel it is finally time that I address my feelings towards it. Honestly, I am not very sure of how I feel about it. I enjoy writing and controlling the aesthetic of my own website, but it does not feel all that fun. This is probably because I am not doing this on my own, I am being told what I should write about and when which makes it feel more like a chore. Although, if it was not an assignment I probably would not have realized how much I do enjoy creative writing like I do here.
Lastly, I want to talk about Web 2.0. Over the past week, we have been learning about using many new web 2.0 tools that I was not familiar with. I have actually enjoyed a few of them so I decided to look into other available resources for future teachers. A Web 2.0 tool that I found that we did not discuss in class is Storybird. It's an application that allows its users to create simple comics. I plan on implementing this in the classroom because it would be beneficial for student creativity.
Well, that is all for this week!
